A Timeline of Our History

Summit Packaging Solutions has a rich history.  Founded in 1984, the company was initially named Summit Packaging and headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Summit Packaging specialized in the design and manufacturing of corrugated products.

In 2014, Summit Container was acquired by 127 Summit Holdings, an investment holding company co-founded by Adam Walker, a packaging industry veteran and now CEO of Summit Packaging Solutions, and Richard Powell.  Under the leadership of Mr. Walker, the company has updated its brand mark and services offerings to include end-to-end supply chain solutions.


1984

Summit Packaging was founded in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1984.

1989

Summit Packaging was acquired and renamed Summit Container Cooperation.

1997

Summit Container moved to a new and larger corporate & manufacturing facility in Monument Colorado, just north of Colorado Springs.

2013

Entrepreneur Adam C. Walker shifted his focus from serving as CEO of Homestead Packaging to expanding his footprint in the global packaging industry, bringing a driven and relentless passion for success from the playing field into the business realm and effectively establishing himself as an innovative, risk-taking businessman.

2014

Summit Container, established in 1984, was acquired by 127 Summit Holdings, adopting a new brand mark to reflect the future-focused mission of a new leadership team

2015

Summit received approval of U.S. Patent No. 9,120,593 “Pop UP Box”

2016

Summit acquires Berkeley Contract Packaging and the Cincinnati-based Quality Associates, Inc. The company moved into a 170,000-square foot state-of-the-art facility in Monroe Township, NJ Summit received the U.S. Department of Commerce MBDA National Manufacturing Firm of the Year award Summit named Manufacturing Firm of the Year by the U.S. Department of Commerce

2017

Summit receives Nulogy PackStar Outstanding Agility Award CEO Adam C. Walker received the Men of Distinction award by the Atlanta Tribune

2020

Summit launches rebranded website 1TeamSummit.com and updates its digital strategy to reflect fresh focus on growing a creative and innovative culture Summit is nominated for the GMSDC Supplier of the Year Award
